Ancient and very noble Sicilian family, originating from Corleone (Palermo) but also branched in Ragusa and Scicli, of clear and ancestral virtue, which has spread over the centuries in various regions of Italy but also of America. In the XVI century in Ragusa the family was related to the noble Cocuzza family. It also owned the barony of Pantano, which we see invested with a Felicia, on August 22, 1746. In Palermo still stands the homonymous noble palace, commissioned, in 1766, by Merendino to the architect Andrea Giganti but the works they started only in 1785 when the architect G. Venanzio Marvuglia, modified the initial project of A. Giganti, started the construction of the Palace and directed its works.
