Questa famiglia detta prima Mexia e Mesia è originaria spagnuola, trapiantata in Napoli nel 1581 da Ferdinando, che fu consigliere del collaterale Consiglio, familiare e continuo commensale del Re Filippo II. Giovanni consigliere di stato e guerra, e gentiluomo di camera del Re Filippo IV; Giovanni Alfonso luogotenente del gran Camerario, e reggente della R. Cancelleria in Napoli nel 1603; Rodrigo consigliere del Collaterale Consiglio e della camera di S. Chiara in Napoli. Consalvo, commendatore di Segura dell'Ordine di S. Giacomo, e signor di Santosimia, fu creato Luogotenente ed amministratore dell'ordine di S. Giacomo, essendo stato incarcerato il Gran Maestro D.
