Alte und sehr edle toskanische Familie mit Wohnsitz in Florenz, Bezirk Santo Spirito, Scala Gonfalon, bekannt als Messeri, Messere oder Messera, die sich im Laufe der Jahrhunderte in verschiedenen Regionen Italiens und Europas verbreitet hat. Der Ursprung dieser Erkenntnis, gelinde gesagt der maßgeblichen Ahnenforscher, sollte im Begriff "messere" gesucht werden, mit dem Personen identifiziert wurden, die im späten Mittelalter bedeutende Positionen wie Notare, Richter und Ärzte oder wohlhabende Landbesitzer innehatten. Andererseits hat diese Familie es in der Entfaltung ihres Glanzes immer geschafft, eine Reihe von Männern hervorzubringen, die ihren Namen in der öffentlichen Beschäftigung, in liberalen und kirchlichen Berufen und im Militärdienst berühmt gemacht haben. Unter diesen befinden sich: Giacomo, Landbesitzer, der 1509 floriert, ohne den Wert des Ausgelassenen zu erhöhen; D. Carlo, Kanoniker, blüht 1525; Luigi, ein Arzt in beiden Gesetzen, blühte 1536 auf; Benedetto vom Predigerorden blühte 1567 auf; Antonio Maria, Jurist, blühte 1589; Guido, Berufssoldat, blühte 1602;
