Très illustre maison de la Bretagne, d'une haute antiquité, dont les premiers auteurs connus sont: Guillaume, rend hommage au vicomte de Rohan en 1396; Jean, épouse vers 1400 Olive Bertho, dont: Pierre, capitaine des francs-archers des évêchés de Tréguier et de Léon, en 1457; Alain, auteur des seigneurs du Hourmelin, marié à Thomine Simon, compris entre les nobles de Lamballe qui prêtèrent serment au duc en 1437. Eonet, fils Olivier, auteur des seigneurs du Tertre-Hello et de la Villebarbou, argentier du duc Pierre en 1455, épouse Marie le Blanc; Bertrand, vivant en 1469, auteur de la branche du Grandpré. Un page du Roi en 1734, brigadier de dragons en 1780, maréchal de camp en 1790, lequel fit ses preuves pour les honneurs de la cour en 1789, et mourut en 1796. La branche du Hourmelin fondue dans Normant de Lourmel.
