In Erbusco, terra di quella regione bresciana che è denominata Franciacorta, viveva nei primi anni del 1500 il notaro Antonio Metelli. Il di lui figlio Giovanni Pietro (n. 1518) pure notaro, pur conservando i possedimenti di Erbusco, che sono tuttora in famiglia, trasferì nel 1568 la propria residenza in Brescia (Parrocchia di S. Giovanni); egli ebbe parecchi figli dei quali Quinto (n. 1540) solo ebbe discendenze con Livio (n. 1581) che sposò Lodovica della famiglia bresciana de' Capitani da cui nacquero: Pietro (n. 1607) e Quinto (n. 1619) questi, marito nel 1660 di Giulia Francassini, fu padre di sette figli, l'ultimo dei quali Giacomo (n. 1678) da Vincenza Guarneri, sposata nel 1729, ebbe Quinti III (n. 1733) e Andrea (n. 1735). Questi due fratelli nel 1764 chiesero ed ottennero che la loro famiglia fosse aggregata al Consiglio Generale della nobiltà bresciana. Da Quinto III nacque Paolo, il quale sposò Lavina
