Francesco, nativo di Candia, ov'era di nobil sangue, di molta potenza e di gran seguito, essendo capo di partito, recatosi a Venezia nell'occasione della guerra di Chioggia, offerì la sua persona con un servo a 30 balestrieri stipendiati a sue spese, oltre il libero dono dell'imprestito fatto di già al pubblico di 800 ducati. In ricompensa del generoso soccorso, nel 1381 fu dal Senato Veneto aggregato al Consiglio colla sua discendenza. Giacomo cavaliere fu ambasciatore a diverse Corti, e nel 1482 a Roberto Sanseverino generale della Repubblica per persuaderlo ad accomodare le cose dei Ferraresi. Tommaso ammesso al Gran Consiglio nel 1465 ed autore di una commedia col titolo: Thomae Medii patricii veneti Fabella: Epirotae stampata nel 1483. Questa famiglia si estinse 1797 nella persona di Francesco-Maria che morì annegato.
