Famiglia originaria di Bergamo e stabilitasi a Guastalla e poi in Bozzolo nel secolo XVII. Francesco fu creato nobile da Ferdinando Carlo, duca di Mantova, nel 1695, ed il duca di Guastalla Antonio Ferdinando Gonzaga, il 26 settembre 1725 fregiava della dignità e del titolo di conte Carlo. Con D.M. del 1890 veniva riconosciuta la nobiltà e il titolo comitale trasmissibile in linea di primogenitura, nonché l'arma sopra descritta a Carlo, di Giuseppe (nato il 10 settembre 1847). Altro ramo. Un Luigi fu 1851 ascritto alla Nobiltà di Acquapendente. Altro ramo. Originaria di Genova, è una delle più illustri famiglie della Corsica ed è fregiata del titolo di marchesi di Multedo. Un marchese inviato dal papa Adriano I in Corsica per combattere i Saraceni, ricevette in compenso delle sue vittorie il castello e la fortezza di Teto.
