Trae questa famiglia le sue origini da Ivrea, e le prime memorie note risalgono a metà del secolo XVI. Fu personaggio notevole Pietro Maurizio, figlio del mercante Gio. Francesco, il quale fu munizioniere generale dei presidi di campagna, munizioniere e sovrintendente generale dei grani, vettovaglie e munizioni conservatore generale del soldo. Fu suo figlio Francesco, che fu agente a Venezia, segretario di Stato in Sicilia e quindi bibliotecario dell'Università di Torino. Fratello di Pietro Maurizio fu Giovanni Battista, che ebbe le cariche di guardia delle zecche e mastro uditore camerale. Da costui nacque Giovanni Antonio (dec. 13 aprile 1770), il quale fu infeudato di Valle di Mosso il 29 giugno 1722 e investito il 22 marzo 1732 col titolo comitale. Nacquero successivamente dal citato Giovanni Antonio, Vittorio Amedeo (nato Torino, 13 deceduto 1730), che fu senatore a Nizza, Giovanni Antonio (nato Nizza Mare, 9 gennaio 1778, deceduto Torino, 26 marzo
