Antica ed illustre famiglia siciliana. Un Pietro fu giudice della corte pretoriana di Palermo nel 1745-46 e forse fu egli stesso quel Pietro che acquistò da casa Diana il titolo di barone di San Lorenzo e da Alessandro Galletti la salina di Nicosia, ottenendone investitura il 9 ag. 1773 e il 10 maggio 1773; un Antonino acquistò da Baldassarre Platamone il titolo di barone di Terrati e ne ebbe investitura il 23 ott. 1799; un Rosario il 28 giugno 1805 ottenne investitura della salina di Nicosia. La famiglia è iscritta genericamente nell'Elenco Ufficiale Nobiliare Italiano del 1922 col titolo di Signore di Terrati (mpr.) in persona dei Discendenti dall'ultimo investito Giacomo; col titolo di Signore della Salina di Nicosia (mpr.) in persona dei Discendenti dall'ultimo investito Rosario.
