Esistette in Sicilia questa antica famiglia, della quale si notano un Tommaso, che, con privilegio del 9 agosto 1326, ottenne conferma della concessione del feudo Fabrica o Xabica; un altro Tommaso (di Andrea, di Tommaso predetto) barone di Xabica, morto senza figli che trasmise la detta baronia al fratello Antonello, il quale ne ottenne conferma a 8 luglio 1453; un Filippo, giudice della Gran Corte nel 1551-52; ma tale famiglia già ai tempi del Mugnos era tenuta estinta e, quindi nessuna rapporto di parentela deve esistere tra essa e la suddetta famiglia e quella di Termini e di Burgio, nonostante l'ottenuto riconoscimento (da parte della famiglia di Burgio decorata del titolo di barone del Grano) dell'antica arma appartenente alla famiglia baroni di Xabica.
