Antigua y muy noble familia del Reino de Nápoles, según unos llegados allí de España, según otros de la ciudad de Roma, de clara y ancestral virtud, esparcida a lo largo de los siglos en diversas regiones de Italia. Conocida como Migliarese, Migliaresi o Migliorese, esta ilustre familia encuentra su cuna más antigua en Cosenza. De hecho, ya en el siglo XII, un Pedro y un Juan, con el título de Señores de Vassalli, fueron encontrados en el privilegio hecho por la Emperatriz Constanza. En la segunda mitad del siglo XIV, otro Juan obtuvo la Capitanía de Cosenza por concesión de la reina Juana I de Anjou.
