Nel 1778 veniva ammessa nel Consiglio Generale della nobiltà bresciana la famiglia Mignani che aveva residenza nel territorio di Brescia dal principio del secolo XV. Difatti negli etimi del 1416 noi troviamo che nella "Cittadella" viveva un Giovanni "de Mignanis" assieme a dei fratelli; il figlio suo Baldassarre lo troviamo a Pontoglio, in provincia, vivente nel 1442 ma già morto nel 1459, mentre il figlio di questi, Faustino ritorna in città e vi esercita la professione di notaio e muore prima del 1475. Gerolamo, di Faustino, ritornò a Pontoglio, ma il figlio suo Antonio attorno al 1520 si stabilì definitivamente in città e da allora di padre in figlio la discendenza è la seguente: Gerolamo, Antonio, Carlo, Antonio, Pandolfo (n. 1689) che sposa Grandilia Bonati, Gerolamo (n.1719) che sposa Luisa Vignola, Giacomo (n. 1747), marito di Francesca Toccagni, Gerolamo (n. 1793), spos. Maddalena Vezzoli da cui: Francesco Angelo (1819-1897); Gio.
