Très illustre maison de la Bretagne, d'une haute antiquité, dont les premiers auteurs connus sont: Hervé, fait une fondation au prieuré de Combourg en 1160; Juhel, croisé en 1248 (Chartes latines de 1191 à 1249 relatives aux croisés, provenant du cabinet Courtois); Rolland, fait une fondation à l'abbaye de la Vieuville en 1200; Yvon, au nombre des dix Bretons de l'armée de Sylvestre Budes, qui combattirent et vainquirent dix Allemands à Rome en 1377; Erard, évêque de Dol, mort en 1386; François, gentilhomme de la chambre du roi Charles IX, capitaine des francs-archers de Saint-Brieuc en1573, épouse Mathurine de la Bouëxière, dame du Plessix; sept chevaliers de l'ordre depuis 1562; Jean, capitaine d'une compagnie chevau-légers et de cent carabins en 1607; un conseiller au parlement en 1623; une fille à Saint-Cyr en 1746; un chef d'escadre en 1765; un membre admis aux honneurs de la cour en 1771. La branche aînée fondue dans d'Ozouville, en Normandie.
