In una antica carta araldica, relativa all'illustre famiglia Milana, abbiamo il piacere e l'onore di leggere: "La famiglia Milana over Milano che tutto è una medesma cosa, venne in Sicilia di Milano ove fin'hora ella vive, ed havendosi impiegato a' serviggi del Rè Federico fece nella militia chiari progressi. Il primo che di lei s'have notitia, è Guido M. gentil'huomo di moltra prudenza, il quale fù impiegato in molt'importanti affari del medesmo, così parimente suo figlio Matteo regio Camariero che sotto il Rè Lodovico fù Capitano di Lentine, e costo dì Augusta per il Rè, col fratello Giovanni Barone del Tenitorio di Rieni, contra i Chiaramontani.
