Famiglia originaria di Valenza in Spagna che ebbe origine da Goffredo, barone del Milà, nel 11200. La discendenza, provata, rimonta a Pietro Giovanni che nel 1247 ottenne da re Giacomo I la signoria di Mazzavales. Auxia Milano trasferì la sua famiglia in Napoli, nel 1420, dove fu ascritto al Seggio di Nido. Sposò Luisa d'Alagno, figlia di Nicola e sorella di Lucrezia, ed ottenne da Alfonso I d'Aragona mille once d'oro sul contado di Venafro. Questa famiglia, per privilegio di Ferdinando d'Aragona duca di Calabria, ottenne di potere aggiungere il nome di Aragona e le armi di Aragona e di Calabria. Sono degni di particolare ricordo: Giovanni, che sposò Caterina Borgia, sorella di papa Callisto III; Luigi, nipote di detto papa, creato cardinale nel 1455, ed inviato Legato Pontificio a Bologna; Girolamo, che servì con cavalli propri nella guerra d'Otranto contro i turchi nel 1481; Giacomo, sposò Eleonora d'Aragona, filgiuola
