Die Milesi-Familie von Ancona ist alten Bergamo-Ursprungs. Im vierzehnten Jahrhundert blühten zwei Zweige: der von Bergamo und der von Split in Dalmatien. Ein Ritter von John Antonio, Gerosolimitano, geboren 1472 und gestorben 1558, gilt als gemeinsamer Vorfahr. Die Familie war in Bergamo seit der zweiten Hälfte des 13. Jahrhunderts bekannt. Von Bergamo zog er nach Rom, wo Giov. Battista, Prälat von Segnatura und Voting, lebte 1600. Dieser Zweig erlosch Mitte des 18. Jahrhunderts; und die Familie wurde in der Kirche von Ara-Coeli begraben. Der Zweig von Ancona stammt in gerader Linie von Antonio ab, einem Adligen aus Split, der Ende des 16. Jahrhunderts lebte. Pietro stammte von ihm und hatte 1660 zwei Kinder: Francesco und Giuseppe oder Iseppo. Alle, Vater und Söhne, waren tapfere Krieger in Dalmatien und in Albanien gegen die Türken für die venezianische Republik. Als Preis wurden am 3. März 1693 Bürger von Castelnuovo mit dem Geschenk
