They are of Dalmatian origin, moved to Bergamo in the 14th century, then took up a permanent residence in Ancona, where they allied themselves with the Ferretti family and inherited the name and assets of the Pironi. Gio. Antonio came to Rome around 1400, placed his house there and left successors, as appears from the memorial in S. Agostino. This Antonio propagated the family, leaving three children, Marzio, Camillo and Alessandro with a great birthright for male descendants, who touched Marzio with curious letters, and died without children, as did Camillo; but Alexander lives, who is very old, and has children of two wives. He renewed his sepulchral memory. He has the house in the Pigna district. He uses a blue cmapo with three decussed silver bands as a weapon, on a tree with a red Lion on either side of a rampant white field.
