Famiglia romana, di chiara ed antica virtù. Sotto la data 6 gennaio 1445, in una Bolla di Eugenio IV, relativamente alla donazione delle terre di Leprignano e Castiglione all'Abbadia di S. Paolo, viene indotto Testimonio Giovanni di Mileto. Del 1462 morì Nobilis et Egregius Vir D. Andreas de Mileto Scriptor Sacrae Penitentieriae. Marianus Scalabastro Not. Rog. nel Testamento. Hanno parentado con i Cardelli, con gli Sciamanna di Terni e con i Romanuli. Gio. Battista Mileto, fu Prelato di Segnatura e Votante, fabbricò una casa magnifica nel Rione di Parione, quasi dirimpetto la Chiesa di S. Tommaso. Ha la sepoltura in Aracoeli. Altro ramo. Originaria di Amantea ed aggregata nel 1690 alla Piazza Nobile, di detta città. E' iscritta nell'Elenco Ufficiale Italiano col titolo di patrizio di Amantea, in persona di Francesco, di Giovan Battista, di Francesco. Figli: a) Emilio; b) Giovanni.
