Alte und edle ligurische Familie, ursprünglich aus Sestri Levante, aber nach Genua gezogen, von klarer und überlieferter Tugend, die sich im Laufe der Jahrhunderte weltweit verbreitet hat. Der klare Adel dieses Hauses wird durch seine Anwesenheit in dem grundlegenden heraldischen Werk "Il Dizionario storico-blasonico delle famiglie nobili e notabili italiane, estinte e fiorenti" des italienischen Schriftstellers und Heraldikers Giovan Battista di Crollalanza (19. Mai 1819 - 8) bestätigt März 1892) und zwischen 1886 und 1890 in drei Bänden in Pisa veröffentlicht. Darüber hinaus stach diese Familie in allen Altersgruppen immer hervor, dank der prominenten Persönlichkeiten, die im öffentlichen Dienst, in den liberalen Berufen und im Militärdienst geboren wurden .
