El origen de este ilustre apellido fue Inglaterra, Miller era el nombre asignado a las personas que trabajaban con los molinos. La palabra, representa el término " mille " o " milne " del inglés medieval, usado en la región del norte de Inglaterra, que significa molino. En Inglaterra, también se usó el sinónimo " millward " nombre designado al cuidador o encargado del molino. Datos recogidos en archivos públicos y privados, nos dan constancia de que a mediados del s. XIII ya existían caballeros de este linaje y de sus variantes. Tenemos reseñas de "John Le Molendinator " que se encuentra inscrito en Hundred Rolls " Los Cien Pegaminos de honor " del Condado de Oxfordshire ( Inglaterra ) desde 1273. Tenemos referencias que caballeros de este linaje estuvieron en España a mediados de los siglos siglo XI al XIV, particularmente en los hechos de la conquista de Ibiza
