Antica famiglia oriunda di Rumilly, la quale ottenne il riconoscimento della nobiltà in persona di Pietro (dec. 9 dic. 1520), figlio di Giacomo, che fu dottore di leggi, consigliere dei duchi Sabaudi Filiberto, Carlo I e Carlo II, giudice di Faucigny (PP. 24 gennaio 1478), consigliere di Giovanni Luigi di Savoia, vescovo di Ginevra, il quale lo nominò giudice del priorato di Contamine (PP. 7 aprile 1480). Furono suoi figli Carlo Amblardo (dec. 19 giugno 1543), che fu professore di leggi, e Claudio (dec. 20 giugno 1554), che fu consigliere del duca Carlo II e collaterale del Consiglio Ducale residente a Chambèry. Da costui nacque Luigi (n. Chambéry 26 giugno 1527, dec. Moncalieri, 12 febbraio 1599), che fu dottore di leggi, vice presidente del Senato di Savoia (18 marzo 1562), consigliere di Stato (1563), primo presidente del Senato di Savoia (1571) e gran cancelliere (15 dicembre 1580).
