Il cognome patronimico Menisini o Minisini deriva da Domenico, ed è ad un personaggio di questo nome che dovrebbe risalire la genealogia di questa famiglia friulana. Ma di esso mancano affatto le notizie. I libri dei camerari della confraternita di S. Michele in Gemona accennano a un Lorenzo Menesini fu Giovanni e a un Tomaso camerari della stessa, e nei libri del Comune è ricordato un Alvise Menesini, che nel 1691 era massaro della comunità. Ma la serie genealogica non risale oltre ad un Giacomo Menesini di Ospedaletto, borgata del gemonese, nato nel 1668, il quale il 7 genn. 1701 ottenne di essere aggregato alla cttadinanza nobile di Gemona. Lo stesso, il 3 febbr. 1717, chiedeva al Governo veneto che venissero sottoposti al vincolo feudale alcuni corpi di terra nelle pertinenze di Gemona di sua libera proprietà, per un valore di 3000 ducati, allo scopo, come dichiarava nella supplica, di
