Famiglia originaria di Pradello (Piacenza). Fu nobilitata per i meriti di Benedetto dotto giureconsulto al servizio dei Farnese. Nel 1688 era confermato membro del magistrato delle fiere delle mercanzie, nel 1695 era nominato consigliere, nel 1699 governatore di Parma, nel 1704 Presidente del Consiglio di giustizia, nel 708 il 14 febbraio diveniva primo ministro, consigliere di Stato, di guerra e d'azienda. Il principe riconobbe i suoi meriti creandolo nobile con patente del 28 marzo 1690, conte con altra del 6 giungo 1698 e finalmente gli cedè il feudo di Costamezzana appartenente alla ducal Camera erigendolo in marchesato per lui e discend. (m.) come da rogiti dei notai camerali Pisani del 1706, 3 luglio e Lottici del 1706, 6 settembre Suo figlio Claudio, sposo ad una contessa Malaspina, era nominato nel 1710 avvocato fiscale di Piacenza e referendario e giudice delle acque di quel territorio; egli prestò giuramento di fedeltà come
