Con diploma in data 4 gennaio 1802, Carlo Emanuele IV, re di Sardegna, concedeva i titoli di cavalierato e di nobiltà all'avvocato Giuseppe, di Tempio, trasmissibile ai discendenti maschi in linea mascolina, in considerazione dei distinti servigi prestati dal di lui avolo avvocato Pietro in pubblici uffici, e di quelli che aveva reso egli stesso nel tempo della spedizione francese in Sardegna. Il nome dello stesso avvocato Don Giuseppe, assieme a quelli di altri membri della sua famiglia, è compreso nell'Elenco dei feudatari, nobili e cavalieri della Provincia di Gallura, compilato nel 1822 dalla Regia Prefettura di Stato e di Guerra presso il vicerè di Sardegna. La famiglia è iscritta genericamente nell'Elenco Ufficiale Nobiliare Italiano del 1922 coi titoli di Cavaliere (maschi), Nobile (maschi e femmine), Trattamento di Don e Donna, in persona dei Discendenti da Giuseppe (1802).
