I Missittini sono una antica famiglia notarile carnica, di cui si hanno notizie sino dalla prima metà del 1300, epoca in cui rogava un Nicolussius dictus Missettinus notarius de Tumecio. Il figlio di questo, Antonio, pure notaio, veniva eletto pievano di Illegio nel 1348. Probabilmente consanguineo dei soprannominati era un Giovanni vivente a Tolmezzo nel 1330, dal quale ha inizio la serie genealogica della famiglia ancor fiorente. I Missittini facevano parte del consiglio di Tolmezzo, e il 28 marzo 1513 il dott. Giacomo veniva aggregato anche a quello di Udine. Un nipote di questo, il notaio Valentino, trasportava la famiglia a Venzone, e i suoi discendenti vi rimasero quasi fino alla fine del secolo XVIII, venendo aggregati anche a quel Consiglio. Divisasi la famiglia nel corso dell'ottocento in più rami, i suoi membri i sparsero per diverse località del Friuli, e chi andò a dimorare a Treppo, chi a Tarcento,
