Antica ed illustre famiglia di Iglesias, le cui notizie risalgono al secolo XVIII. Nel 1728 ottenne il cavalierato ereditario e la nobiltà con un Diego, i cui discendenti, nel volgere di pochi decenni, acquistarono alcuni feudi. Nel 1752 un Antonio ebbe la signoria di Motresta, egli tentò di ripopolare la contrada con coloni greci e, nel 1763, ebbe il feudo elevato in marchesato di S. Cristoforo; purtroppo, il tentativo di ripopolamento fallì ed il feudo fu reso al fisco nel 1773. Suo fratello, il capitano Basilio, ebbe il salto della Minerva con il titolo di conte nel 1755, ma morì nel 1770, lasciando il feudo in eredità ad Antonio. Quest'ultimo, nel 1776, ebbe il titolo di marchese di S. Vittorio, ma morì nel 1777 lasciando erede i nipoti Maramaldo e Pes. Degno di annovero è senz'altro il pittore A.Todde , la cui tela della Vergine della Consolazione si trova nella cappella
