Ancient and very noble Alexandrian family, called Lodolo or Modolo, depending on the way of writing the surnames, which spread over the centuries in Tortona, Milan, Novi Ligure, Genoa and Rome. In 1220, a Petrus was father of the Municipality in Alessandria della Paglia; in 1221, Father Guglielmo appears as the purpose of S. Marco, in Tortona. The family then settled in Novi Ligure, where, as appears from a decree of the Duke of Milan, a Thomas was a member of the Council of the municipality, in 1419.
