On la retrouve à différentes époques, en divers localités et il y a eu nombreux personnages illustres de ce nom. On signale les personnages dignes de mémoire: Guy, présent à l'assise du comte Geffroi en 1185; Guy, mort à la croisade de 1248; Guy, épouse vers 1330, Marie, dame de Trebrimoel, et accompagne le duc en Flandre en 1327; Guyon, épouse vers 1420, Jeanne, dame de Pestivien, dont Guyon, marié à Marguerite de Malestroit en 1458, appelé au parlement général à Vannes en 1462. La branche aînée fondue en 1412 dans la Chapelle, puis Rosmadec et Sénéchal. On remarque (dès le XIIIème siècle) des alliances importantes avec des familles nobles en Bretagne et autres régions françaises.
