Antica famiglia veneta originaria da Rovigo, ove ebbe sempre posizione preminente, che si stabilì in Brescia attorno alla metà del secolo scorso, in seguito ad una ingente eredità dai conti Martinengo, del ramo detto della Fabbrica o di Padernello. Pietro, sul finire del secolo XVIII, sposò la nobile donna Alba Molin, ultima dell'antica ed illustre famiglia veneziana che diede alla Serenissima un Doge e moltissimi suoi membri alle alte cariche della Signoria. Figlio di Pietro fu Francesco, che sposò la nobile Marianna Mainardi (nata nel 1800, deced. nel 1869), dalla quale ebbe otto figli, qui sotto elencati con le loro discendenze. Pietro (nato nel 1827, deced. nel 1896), dottore in legge, sposato con Angela Amighetti (nata nel 1850, deced. 1923). Giuseppe (nato nel 1830, deced. nel 1906), dottore in legge, Sindaco di Brescia, deputato al Parlamento; sposato con Giulia, dei marchesi Platis (nata nel 1837, deced. nel 1863), da cui:
