En la villa de Brunete, del partido judicial de Navalcarnero (Madrid), moró una familia de este apellido, que generalmente antepuso el patronímico Fernández. De ella fué Gabriel Fernández M., natural de Brunete, esposo de doña María Adeba, de igual naturaleza, y ambos padres de Eugenio Fernández M. y Adeba, natural de Brunete, que casó con doña Isabel Rodríguez Realiengo, de la misma naturaleza hija de Gabriel Rodríguez Béjar y de doña Marí Realiengo, ambos de Brunete. De esa unión nacieron: Tomás Fernández M. y Rodríguez, que sigue, y Gabriel Fernández M. y Rodríguez, natural de Brunete, de la Junta de Aposento de S. M. y Caballero de la Orden de Santiago desde el 11 de Agosto de 1690. Tomás Fernández M. y Rodríguez, natural de Brunete, fué Rector del Colegio de San Pelayo, en la Universidad de Salamanca; del Consejo de S. M. en la Real de Ordenes, y Caballero de la de Santiago, en la que ingresó el 11 de agosto de 1690. Controja matrimonio con doña María Teresa Vallés y Álvarez, natural de Alfaro, Rioja (hija de Juan Vallé natural de Alfaro, y de doña Josefa Álvarez Medrano, natural de Cervera del Río Alhama, Logroño). Tuvieron este hijo: Manuel Joaquín Fernández M. y Vallés, natural de Pamplona y Caballero de la Orden de Santiago desde el 9 de Enero de 1721. De la misma casa de la villa de Brunete, procedió Marcos Fernández M., natural de Brunete, que celebró su enlace con doña Ana de Cardeña, a la que hizo madre de Gabriel Fernández M. y Cardeña, natural de Brunete.
