Antiga casa siciliana, que gozava de nobreza em Alcamo, Messina, Mazzara e Trapani. Entre os personagens que mais ilustraram essa família, certamente não podemos ficar calados: Giovanni, um soldado que, em 22 de agosto de 1441, foi nomeado conselheiro real e no mesmo dia seu filho, Domenico, nobre qualificado de Messina, foi nomeado família e família real; Benedetto, que foi senador de Messina em 1516-17; Domenico, senador da mesma cidade em 1519-20; outro Domenico, que ocupou o mesmo cargo em 1586-87, 1590-91, 1597-98; Andrea, notário principal do Senado de Messina. Um Domenico, do falecido Giacomo, um Mario, um Matteo, um Maurizio, um Ottavio e um Sebastiano são atribuídos ao nobre mestre de Mollica. Um Francesco, por outro lado, com o privilégio de 19 de setembro de 1649, obteve o título de Barão de Bagnarella; a Pietro foi senador de Trapani nos anos 1693-94, 1705-6, 1738-39, 1745-46, 1755-56.
