Familia piamontesa antigua y muy noble, de clara y ancestral virtud, que se ha extendido a lo largo de los siglos en diversas regiones de Italia y del mundo. Conocido como Mombelli o Mombello y, más antiguamente, Montbel o Mombel, se divide en dos ramas principales. La rama Moncalieri es muy noble. Deriva de origen nobiliario de Francesco que obtuvo la concesión de nobleza y armas el 16 de noviembre de 1453. Vittorio Amedeo II rey de Cerdeña, con cartas patentes fechadas el 11 de enero de 1723, invistió a Giuseppe-Antonio, prefecto y senador en su tierra natal, con el feudo de Olivastro en el valle de Oneglia con título de conde; el Ministro del Interior del reino de Italia, con un decreto de 1874 declaró el título de conde de Olivastro en competencia con Federico María Bernardo Agostino, transmisible en descendencia masculina por línea recta continuada masculina con orden
