Ancienne et très illustre famille frioulane, de vertu claire et ancestrale, répartie au cours des siècles dans diverses régions d'Italie. Cette famille, selon des généalogistes faisant autorité, serait une branche de la noble famille lombarde Bonassi, dont les membres, dans l'Antiquité, étaient connus sous le nom de "Bonasso" ou "Monasso".
