Passarono nei secoli trascorsi con vari Rè alla conquista delle terre del Regno di Napoli molti Signori, e Cavalieri Francesi; i quali, dopo la vittoria da quel Rè ottenuta, venendo dal medesimo rimunerati di Stati, e di ricchezze, diedero vita a una prosapia e si stabilirino con loro abitazioni in castelli, o torri murate in Napoli, e altre parti del Regno, in ricompensa de'loro servizi militari; fra' quali questa famiglia. Di antichissima e nobile origine francese, venuta nel regno di Napoli ai primi tempi della dominazione angiona, dove Guido ebbe le contee di Nola ed Avellino, e suo fratello Giovanni, quella di Gerace. Passò per giustizia nell'Ordine di Malta nel 1620 ed in Priorato nel 1711, in persona del cav. Bernardino, avendone fatta la prova da Guidone
