Procede este linaje del de Monfort francés, cuyos individuos fueron Duques de Narbona y ostentaron otros títulos. Una casa de Monforte radicó en la villa de Pasarón, del partido judicial de Jarandilla (Cáceres), y de ella fué Francisco M., natural de Pasarón, esposo de doña Isabel Durán, de igual naturaleza, y ambos padres de Francisco M. y Durán, natural de Pasarón, y Veedor y Sobrestante Mayor de las Reales Fortificaciones del Ejército de Extremadura, que casó con doña María de Araujo Salgado, natural de Lisboa (hija de Antonio Salgado de Araujo, natural de la feligresía de San Salvador de Torno, y de doña Inés Pereira, natural de Baltas, todo en la provincia de Orense). Procrearon a Francisco M. y Salgado, natural de Badajoz, Capitán de Caballos Corazas, electo Gobernador y Capitán General del Paraguay y Caballero de la Orden de Santiago en la que ingresó el 22 de Diciembre de 1683, y Salvador M. y Salgado, natural de Badajoz, Comisario General de la Caballería del Trozo de Ordenes en el Ejército de Cataluña, y Caballero de la misma Orden con igual fecha que su hermano. Luis M., vecino de Alcañiz (Teruel), era Inquisidor Infanzón en 1583.
