Questa famiglia è originaria di Carsoli (AQ) e si vuole che sia la stessa che figura nel secolo XVI ascritta tra le nobili romane. Di tale nobiltà si fa cenno infatti in un vecchio libro di stemmi conservato nella biblioteca municipale di Spoleto. Verso la metà del 1500 prese stanza in Todi con il dottore in legge, Messer Placido. Ebbe questi come figlio messer Flavio che, trovandosi nelle condizioni prescritte dagli statuti tudertini, chiese ed ottenne nell'aprile 1590 l'aggregazione a quella nobile cittadinanza, come appare dalle pubbliche riformanze. da Todi i suoi discendenti si trasferirono in Acquasparta e coi primi del 1700 a Spoleto in persona di Filippo che, per essere già patrizio di Todi e per aver contratto nozze con la nobile Flavia dei Conti di Campello delle primarie della città, ottenne il 19 nov. 1719 di essere anch'egli ascritto all'illustre ceto patrizio di Spoleto.
