Alcuni storici sono dell'opinione che questa antica famiglia bresciana possa congiungere la propria genealogia a quella dei conti rurali di Montechiaro già fiorenti nel X secolo, ma tale ascendenza è sino ad ora troppo poco sufficientemente provata. Faustino in città, ed è certamente il padre di Tonino che vediamo nel 1426, tra i maggiori della città, sottoscriveva il giuramento di fedeltà di
