Alte und sehr adlige Familie von Terni, Perugia und Orvieto, mit wichtigen Kernen auch in der Region Marken, bekannt als Monticelli, Monteduranti oder de 'Monti. Es stammt von der alten Familie der Monticelli-Grafen von Tusculum und antiken römischen Baronen ab, und zwar von einem Gottifredo, Bruder von Kardinal Ottaviano, der 1159 vom kaiserlichen Gegenpapst unter dem Namen Victor IV geschaffen wurde, der der vorherige war Jahr mit seinen anderen Brüdern in der Stadt und dem Territorium von Terni investiert. Zwei dieser Herren von Monticelli, Ottone und Gottifredo, waren 1157 römische Konsuln. Nicola und Bartolomeo waren frühere Oberhäupter der Stadt Terni, der erste 1398 und 1408 und der andere 1403. Paolo, di Pietro, war Bürgermeister von Florenz in 1345 Kapitän der Gemeinde Terni 1330, der Gemeinde Florenz 1329 bis 1334, der Gemeinde Orvieto 1337 und dann Bürgermeister von Perugia 1341. Francesco, sein Sohn, war 1344 Bürgermeister von Pistoia; Giovanni war 1433
