Parmi les personnages dignes de mémoire les plus célèbres de cette famille on cite: un Louis Montlouis qui rendit hommage, le 10 janvier 1470, à Alain d'Albret, comte du Périgord, de tout qu'il possédait dans la chatellenie d'ìAutebroche et d'Ans;un Bernard, écuyer, fils de Pantaléon, épousa en 1564, Mayne de Foucault, fils de Bernard de Foucault, écuyer, seigneur de Lardimalie; Jean, seigneur du Grellier et de la Serre, se maria en 1572, avec Marguerite de Foucault de Lardimalie, dont provint une fille qui épousa, par contrat du 9 juin 1601, Armand de Gontaut de Saint-Geniez, chevalier, seigneur de Ruffen; Pierre, seigneur d'Aradour, vivant en 1500, père de Léonet, marié à l'héritière de Pouillac; Thomas-Siméon, seigneur de Plaçzcaër, décapité à Nantes, par ordre du Régent, en 1720 pour sa participation à la conspiration de Cellamare; une fille à Saint-Cyr en 1735. Cette famille a été maintenue dans sa noblesse par sentence du 29 septembre 1667, à Poitiers.
