D'origine aragonese, portata in Napoli da Quintilliano Morvillo, capitano di cavalli, il cui figliuolo Alfonso con diploma del 23 settembre 1526 fu dichiarato nobile. Fu infeudata di S. Angelo e Frosolone nel 1718 in persona di Giuseppe Antonio, che, nel 1730 venne decorato del titolo di duca su detta terra, titolo riconosciuto con r. Rescritto 13 novembre 1858. questa famiglia fu aggregata nel 1761 al Seggio di Portaretese di Salerno e ricevuta per giustizia nel 1777 nell'Ordine Costantiniano. Fu pure ascritta alla nobiltà romana e dichiarata nobile fuori Piazza in Napoli. Altro ramo. Famiglia di origine napoletana che venne reintegrata a forma della Costituzione Benedettina in vigore di Rescritto del Pontefice Pio VI del 18 Giugno 1784 con Senatus Consulto del 30 giugno detto anno ad istanza di Nicola Morbilli. Senatus Consulto del 30 Giugno 1784.
