Les armes de cette maison furent produites par Jean et François Morelon, écuyers, sieurs de Morelon et de Fontbelle, habitant les paroisses de Cherval et du Vieux-Mareuil, lorsqu'ils produisirent pour être maintenus dans leur noblesse le 14 décembre 1666. Ce jugement fut confirmé par l'Intendant de la Bourbonnaye le sieurs de Chauveroche et de Fontbelle, frères, fils de François et de Marie de la Morelie mariés en 1677, seraient inscrits sur le catalogue des nobles de la sénéchaussée de Périgueux, au vu de titres remontant à Simon de Morelon, écuyer, marié en 1521 à Marguerite de Brochard. Les alliances contractées furent en outre avec les familles de Gentil (1580), de Maillard (1605), de Camain (1682), de Faucher (1693) (Archives de M. de Saint-Saud). Armes de la famille: D'argent au lion de sable armé et lampassé de gueules.
