Originalmente da Provença, ela veio ao reino de Nápoles com Carlos I de Anjou. Lembramos de Pietro de Mores, soldado e família real, ele foi investido em 20 de abril de 1277 pelo escritório do carrasco real; Giovanni e Tommaso, escudeiros do referido rei em 1279; Matteo, juiz de Salerno em 1290; Nicola, juiz e vereador da cidade de Cápua, em 1327, no carrasco da Sicília, em 1334; Alexander, mestre racional da Cúria Magna em 1330; Guglielmo, senhor de Montella, juntamente com Alvino Carbone em 1302. Esta família se estabeleceu em Montecorvino na segunda metade do século 15 com um Salimbene e foi incluída no papel das 23 famílias que constituíam a nobreza dessa terra desde o século XV. Giovan Battista, filho de Salimbene, teve numerosos filhos, incluindo Nicolantonio, capitão real em Guardiagrele e Gaspare, distinto jurisconsulto, que por mandato expresso da universidade empreendeu uma viagem à Espanha em idade
