Antica famiglia di Loreto, di chiara ed avita virtù, propagatasi, nel corso dei secoli, in diverse regioni d'Italia. Tal casato, inoltre, in ogni epoca, sempre riuscì a distinguersi, grazie agli elevati personaggi, a cui diede i natali. Tra questi, senza nulla levar al valore degli omessi, ricordiamo: Saverio, il quale fu fu scalco del pontefice, intendente delle Poste pontificie e avvocato di grido; Filippo, il quale fu cavaliere dello Sperone d'oro, ufficiale dell'esercito pontificio, e che si batté a Castelfidardo come aiutante in seconda del generale de Pimodan. Lo stesso, sposò Maddalena Argentini, di famiglia patrizia di Cesena. La famiglia ebbe il titolo comitale da papa Gregorio XIV; essa si estinse con Geltrude, figlia di detto Filippo, che sposò il marchese Antonio di Baviera di Senigallia (nato 1861).
