Famiglia che è tra le più antiche di San Ginesio (Macerata) e riconosce come suo capostipite un Orazio vivente nel 1520 circa. Ebbe egli Pietro Paolo, I.V.D. e cav. dell'Ordine Piano. Da lui ne venne Angelo, da cui Antonio illustre gioureconsulto addottoratosi nell'Università di Roma. Paolo, di Antonio, storico insigne, scrisse la storia di S. Ginesio, sostenendo che questa città fosse l'antica Cupra. Fu Governatore di parecchie città nelle Marche e nella Sabina. Egli per diritto ereditario portò anche il cognome Riccomanni. Aloisio, di paolo, fu I.V.D. e si addottorò nell'Università di Camerino. Si trasferì a Roma ove ricoprì importanti cariche e fu uno dei più rinomati avvocati della Curia Romana. Fu Socio della Reale Accademia di Torino e dei Georgofili di Firenze. Ebbe relazione con illustri letterati italiani e stranieri. Fu chiaro anche nella storia e nelle lettere, pubblicando importanti opere. Morì a Bracciano il 7 aprile 1770 nel
