Très ancienne et illustre famille originaire du territoire de Rome. Figure dans les livres du conseil du XVIe siècle à Giovanni, conseiller de la municipalité. Anna, première actrice au Teatro della Scala de 1788 à 1792. Depuis le XVIIe siècle, divers membres de cette illustre famille se sont répandus dans diverses régions d'Italie et y ont été accueillis dans les bureaux importants de la ville où ils vivaient. Giustino Morichelli d'Arcevia (Ancône) architecte et peintre apprécié du XVIIIe siècle, disciple de Vici et Vanvitelli. Cette famille dite d'écrivains anciens figurait certainement parmi celles recueillies dans le Livre d'Or du Capitole. De la bibliographie documentée sur les manuscrits du Vatican, on peut voir le nombre relativement restreint de mémoires concernant les familles romaines. Si nous laissons de côté les sources suspectes de Ceccarelli, Fanusio, Metallino, dont les fables ont été en partie acceptées par Iacovacci ; il nous reste le vaste
