Famiglia originaria di Milano, che ebbe a diramarsi in varie città. un Giovanni Moriga fu eletto Podestà di Ravenna, e quivi trasferì la propria famiglia; a questi successe nella carica di Podestà il figliuolo Leonardo. Dagli atti del Consiglio di Ravenna risulta che, il 30 novembre 1680, Lorenzo venne creato Consigliere in luogo di Marcantonio suo padre. Il 16 maggio 1693 Camillo fu creato Consigliere in luogo del dottore Giovanni Battista, suo zio, ed il 31 gennaio 1744 a questi gli successe in Consiglio il figlio Giovani Battista. La famiglia è iscritta genericamente nell'Elenco Ufficiale Nobiliare Italiano del 1922 col titolo di Patrizio di Ravenna (maschi) in persona dei Discendenti ed Agnati di Lorenzo, Marcantonio (30 novembre 1680) e di Giovanni Battista, di Camillo (31 gennaio 1744).
