I M. tennero la podesteria di Vicenza, Verona, Ferrara, Modena, Faenza e Tortona. Un Acerbo M. console di Lodi al tempo di Federico Barbarossa. Un Moriggi milanese si trasferì a Venezia e vi fu creato cittadino, occupando l'alto grado di grancancelliere di quella Repubblica. Un Giovanni M. milanese, eletto podestà di Ravenna, quivi trasferì la propria famiglia, e dopo di lui fu fatto podestà il figliuol suo Leonardo. Ha posseduto la signoria di Trino in Piemonte e i feudi delle due Dogane di S. Martino e di S. Maurizio. Sortirono da essa dottori, teologi e canonici, e due vescovi: Giovanni di Cagli nel 1172, ed un altro Giovanni di Monza.
