Antichissima famiglia di Macerata le cui prime notizie risalgono ad un Filippo vivente nel 1154. Fu ascritta al Patriziato di Macerata nella seconda metà del secolo XVII nella persona di Giov. Battista (dec. 1755). Ebbe molti uomini illustri. La famiglia è iscritta nell'Elenco Ufficiale Nobiliare Italiano col titolo di Patrizio di Macerata (mf.) ed è rappresentata da Giov. Batta Augusto Mornati, n. 10 novembre 1840 dal fu Filippo (dec 1889), sp. 4 febbraio 1864 Lucia Ferretti Sebastiani. Morì 12 novembre 1914. Figli: 1) Filippo. n. 14 aprile 1874, sp. 11 settembre 1905 nobile Stamura Luisa di Anton Federico Osmani di Recanati (n. 13 novembre 1877), da cui: a) Anton Federico, n. 23 giugno 1906, ingegnere; b) Giuseppe, n. 18 ottobre 1908; c) Francesco, n. 19 settembre 1910; d) Vittorio, n. 1 ottobre 1915; e) Adalberto, n. 17 settembre 1921. 2) Emilia, n. 11 dicembre 1864. 3) Maria, n.
