Antica e nobile famiglia di Pietrasanta; il primo individuo che si conosca di questa famiglia fu un Morrone di Deodato; quindi nel 1377 un Giusfredo, dal quale nacque un altro Giusfredo aromatario, priore degli anziani nel 1404 e 1429, sindaco e procuratore del Comune nel 1405. Nicola, di lui figlio, ebbe lo stesso ufficio nel 1431, 1441 e 1461, fu dei più audaci partigiani del governo di Genova ed uno dei capi della ribellione contro i Lucchesi nel 1437, e nel 1449 fu fatto cancelliere del Comune; Giusfredo dottore di leggi, figlio del precedente, era anziano in patria nel 1479, e giudice del tribunale delle mercanzie in Firenze nel 1475. Fu anche priore degli anziani nel 1467 e si recò ambasciatore a Lucca nel 1458. Giovanni, di lui fratello, fu anch'egli priore degli anziani nel 1481.
