Ancient family of the Seriana valley in the Bergamasco territory where it was originally called Fogaroli and as such known since the XIV century. It was attached to the noble Council of Bergamo and always maintained this nobility, which was confirmed with SRA 4 August 1820. The emperor Rudolph II with diploma II April 1578 granted to this fam. the Hungarian nobility. With imperial diploma August 27, 1900 this branch had the title of Count of the AI, which was not confirmed in the kingdom. Other extinct lines had the title of count of Cavalcaselle (March 2, 1750) and Sandrà (November 20, 1784) with the civil and criminal jurisdiction of first instance, and with this title Giacomo Fogaroli was registered in the ALT.
